Chan Peterson, Principal and Founder of FineWining™, fosters a lifelong interest and appreciation for wine. Rooted in the glass of wine that traditionally accompanied family dinners, Spring Break visits to the Napa Valley, the first time the “lights went on” with a 1968 Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon, the power of a wine and label to recall special places and moments with friends and family, and looking forward to the next one, wine – in its many facets – is his captivating interest.
Chan moved to San Antonio several years ago after concluding a long time career as a financial services executive and consultant in California, New York and Chicago. With the move completed, he has pursued a course of wine study and accreditation to build on his wine collecting interest and experience. He holds a WSET Advanced Certificate in Wine & Spirits with Merit and recently completed the Fine Vintage First Level Sommelier accreditation. Believing that first-hand experience is an important complement to study, he has pursued wine immersion trips with Masters of Wine (MW’s) in Spain, France, and Italy, has toured the wine regions in South Africa and Baja California, and frequently travels to the California and Oregon wine regions.
Through FineWining™, Chan combines his consulting and financial expertise with his intrigue for the world of wine, and seeks to share and spread his passion – exploring, demystifying and simplifying the world of wine for casual interests, expanding wine horizons and appreciation for budding and seasoned oenophiles, and working with collectors to build, cull and improve the value and enjoyment of their cellars.
